A small field for the Mens race made for a tactical race with several attempts by riders to get away from the lead group, ultimately being brought back. Samuel and Jeremy were straight to the front trading punches with the competition. After a few laps, Jeremy got to the front and twisted the throttle to thin the group. Two laps to go, Samuel launched a flyer, getting clear of the pack be a couple hundred yards and forcing everyone else to turn themselves inside out to chase. The front group shattered, but Samuel was caught on the last lap. Ora trails fest being a lower UCI classification after national championships meant the race would be less attractive, but HART was sad to see only one Elite Woman registered for the race. Isabella’s race was combined with other categories, and she spent her race trading attacks with HART support crew, Brandt Elson. With Carter from Dirt Camp Racing and Team Dad, Brandt, they rode up the mountains, got lost a bit, and found some of the most incredible trail! Flowy, fast, beautiful singletrack traversing the Canadian Rockies and overlooking the valley below from a thousand feet up. They think the trail was Cloud Line but there were a few u-turns made along the way. It was a great wrap to a week in a beautiful place and some good Father’s Day fitness for Brandt. It was a wet and rowdy weekend and the festival was forced to cancel short track and delay the enduro and gravel events. She suffered through several mechanicals in the gravel race and finished 6th in Pro Women. Then she fought through the wet and wild conditions on gnarly tracks to finish 6th in for Pro Women’s Enduro as well! It was an excellent opportunity to shake out fitness and equipment and find all the little things that needed fixing before the next round of UCI races in June. Unfortunately, Isabella's battles with the athletes in her sights were cut short by an error on the race organizer's part. She was pulled out of the race well before the 80% mark as her competitors remained on course.
